Alaska Travel Cruises
Alaska travel cruises are one of the more popular cruises. Lou and I had heard such good things about others experiences, we had to see for ourselves.
We were able to enjoy an awesome day in Juneau Alaska. Juneau is the capital of Alaska and a very quaint and neat town.
We didn't see any condominiums there.
View out of our cruise ship room's window during a storm at sea.

Unfortunately, our stop in Skagway Alaska was canceled due to a bad storm. Wow, we had 30' seas and 100' swails. Regretfully we missed our stop in Skagway Alaska and a train ride in the mountains. We have got to go back to try again.
Tip: if you ever find yourself on a cruise ship about to end up in a storm, don't wait until you are in the storm before you take some type of motion sickness pill; we took Bonine. The chances of you getting sick following that rule are low.
Street scene in downtown Juneau Alaska. Notice the waterfall running down the mountain at a distance.
Stairs between the buildings go straight UP the mountain. It really seems odd. The back of the building must be built into the side of the mountain.
Visiting Alaska was a wonderful experience. I would recommend that everyone visit at least once. A fun and economical way to see Alaska and many other destinations is through travel by cruise ship.
Cruising is one of our favorite things to do. We had never been on a cruise until 3 years ago. To this day I don't know why it took us so long to discover the charm, variety and fun.
I am so glad that Lou thought ahead and purchased a really nice raincoat on-line for each of us. We actually were complimented by many locals and visitors as we walked around town. They saw them as designer rain coats. It was very chilly and wet that day; I think these people were just envious that we were warm and dry.

Words can't describe how beautiful the glacier is. It was a cloudy and rainy day when I took this photo. I would have loved to have seen it on a sunny day. It was blue. Check out the waterfall too. All in all an incredible vista.

Upside Down Trees in Juneau Alaska
These trees are recycled. When the land was being cleared the owner accidentially pushed a tree up and it landed in an upside down position. He then saw an opportunity to do something unique by incorporating these upside down trees into his decorative garden. He planted flowers and a variety of plants in the roots of the trees.
We are really looking forward to going on one of the many Alaska travel cruises again in the future.
